MOHAWK ENDORSES AWI QUALITY CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
By Steve Novchich, National Sales Manager

In keeping with its national reputation of excellence, the Architectural Woodworking Institute (AWI) now offers design professionals a means to identify certified providers of architectural woodwork, including on-site verification that woodwork, including on-site verification that woodwork (including architectural wood doors) is in compliance with industry standards.  Mohawk is proud to be one of the few manufacturers in the nation that has successfully met all the requirements necessary to participate in the AWI Quality Certification Program.

Throughout the certification process, Mohawk was subject to a battery of evaluations by AWI inspectors and facilitators of the AWI Quality Certification Program.  Evaluations encompassed not only the physical properties of the product itself, but also included the review of operating systems, customer perceptions, and senior management's understanding of AWI standards.

The AWI QCP offers many benefits to distributors, contractors, architects, and most importantly the end-user.  Each door requiring the QCP label is clearly identified on the top rail of the door and is registered with the Architectural Woodworking Institute.  This label gives all parties the assurance that their doors were manufactured in accordance with the AWI standards for which the project was specified.  Most importantly, third-party accountability is assured by AWI inspectors.  In the event that questions related to the grade or quality of labeled QCP doors come up, the point of contact is not the distributor, contractor, or factory; the site visit and verification will come from actual AWI personnel.  This service is provided to all Mohawk customers at no additional cost.

If you have ever questioned the grade or quality of the doors you purchase for architectural work, demand the AWI QCP label and eliminate any "middle man" interpretation of AWI standards.  Get your assurance directly from the source.

For more information on the benefits of this program we encourage you to visit the Architectural Woodworking Institute online at www.awinet.org.
